When over 400 events registered to be included in the first ever annual Fringe we all fell off our chairs. In two short months the exceptional artists listed in the following pages got their acts together and chose to be involved. They believe, as we do, that Adelaide audiences are ready for an annual submersion into the entertaining and deeply engaging world of the arts.

I’m very excited that the Fringe is now annual. It means more work for those involved in the industry, more business, more investment in Adelaide and more fun, culture and creativity for inquisitive audiences. Most importantly, Adelaide now provides a regular platform for the diverse work of those people who know best how to summarise, futurise and reflect our world back to us... artists!

Ahhh, there’s no business like showbiz. In this Fringe you will discover; a rave for babies, a convergence of our greatest national funny folk, a showcase of our most talented disabled artists (High Beam Global) and a meeting of the most exquisite creative minds in over 190 venues.

This first annual Fringe is only possible thanks to the dedication of a bunch of very talented and impressive people – these include the amazing Fringe Board, the awesome Fringe Family (the professional and energetic team who pedal like fury behind their swan like demeanour), our lovely, clever and award winning sponsors, our tireless volunteers and of course the thousands of super deluxe
artists who share our unbridled optimism for the Adelaide Fringe. Thank you all.

So whether you are a regular Fringe lover (aka Fringe pig), a newbie ready to dip a toe into the creative delights that await you, or even a visiting member of the world’s emergency services…don’t panic, just welcome your annually altered existence.
