This festival has been celebrated in spring or autumn since 1936, and this occasion will be the highlight of the Festival. It will include a large floral display on North Terrace, massed flowers against the terraced walls of Government House and on the lawns of Victoria Square, colourful decorations on commercial and public buildings, and a floral queen competition. The climax will be a Floral Festival Ball in the Town Hall on Wednesday, March 16, at 8pm.
