Annie's Coming Out

Theatre
Presented by: Salamanca Theatre Company
At: AMP Theatre
AMP Building, 1 King William Street, Adelaide

Devised by Richard Davey, adapted from Rosemary Crossley & Anne McDonald's book. In 1963, at the age of 3, Anne McDonald was committed to the care of St. Nichols' Hospital suffering from extreme physical disability. It was assumed that she was similarly mentally retarded. A new staff member discovered that she possessed normal intelligence. The play tells of Annie's efforts to communicate and her struggle for freedom.
