The Fringe School
Workshops
Presented by:
The Fringe
At:
Fringe School
70-74 Kintore Avenue, Adelaide
During the Festival, the Fringe is running a three week performing arts workshop/school to encourage the learning of performing skills, and the exchange of arts information between workshop students. The main emphasis will be on improvisation techniques, regarded as essential for most forms of performance.
School coordinators are Lenny Kovner, who has organised similar projects at the Amsterdam Festival of Fools, and Wayne Anthoney, founder of Magic Circus. Enrolment is open to all, but there is a limit of 60 places. Tutors leading the practical sessions will be drawn from both Fringe and Festival performers. Classes will be open ended in that students will be expected to participate in street and park events, to work towards these out of class hours, and to give as good as they get.
