Full title: Monsieur Gericault, Your Shipwreck is Certainly No Disaster! Makeshift presents a new work inspired by French artist Theodore Gericault's 'Raft of the Medusa'. This exciting production traces the swing of the pendulum of emotion between hope and despair. It explores the inner journey of the artist and maps the transformation of a real life event into a masterpiece. This epic performance comes to Adelaide from one of Melbourne's most innovative and dynamic new theatre companies. Makeshift is a recently formed company, established by the VCA post-graduate animaters and directors. Its membership also comprises graduate actors and current acting students from the college.
