Direct from the Melbourne Festival, "Black Pearls"; an original docu-singery, using song, narrative and slides to highlight the Black American women singers who struggled for racial dignity from slavery to the 1960's Civil Rights Movement. Singers honoured include Billie Holiday, Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Eartha Kitt and Nina Simone et al.
