Writing/Lit/Poetry
Presented by: TOM BURTON
At: IRA RAYMOND ROOM, BARR SMITH LIBRARY, UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE
BARR SMITH LIBRARY, UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE NORTH TERRACE ADELAIDE 5000

-

This one-hour reading from William Barnes's Poems of Rural Life in the Dorset Dialect (1844) brings his poems to life, in their original nineteenth-century pronunciation, with all their merriment, and all their haunting poignancy, sounding again "the v?ices that be gone". (Proceeds to Alzheimer's Australia and the Barr Smith Library.)
