Helpmann Award Nominee 2010 _x0013_ Best Comedy Performance Years ago, when Kitty left Australia, she was probably better known for her character work on Full Frontal (a TV sketch show, not a nudie mag) and The Sketch Show which, as the title suggests, is also a TV sketch show, not a nudie mag. With zero nudie mag offers coming in and no more sketch shows muck around in, Kitty decided to pursue a career in standup which is why she up and moved to London where she honed her skills working the pre-eminent UK comedy club circuit. For the record she also worked the not so pre-eminent UK comedy club circuit and did her fair share of egregious gigs all over the United Kingdom. For the past eight years she_x0019_ s been a regular at all the best clubs and all the big festivals around the world, including Edinburgh, Montreal and Aspen. She even managed to do comedy in Japan, Holland, Germany and South Africa _x0013_ quite an achievement really as those countries are all well known for their excellent senses of humour. But you can_x0019_ t waft about the world forever so eventually she came back home and wafted around Australia instead, supporting visiting international artists such as Wayne Brady and Jason Alexander. She travelled all over the country with the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow in 2009, 37 gigs in 32 towns in 35 minutes...or maybe it was days, who can remember. Since then she_x0019_ s been popping up on Good News Week and most recently on The 7pm Project with her own brand of 99% fact free humour. It_x0019_ s been a long time coming but now she_x0019_ s finally heading to Adelaide to launch herself on a largely unsuspecting audience with the show CHARMING & ALARMING. For six nights only at the Royalty Theatre she will showcase a definitive collection of her best standup along with some special extras as well...just like a DVD only in real life! CHARMING & ALARMING promises to be a fast paced evening of cracking stories, skillful characterisations, hard laughs and a little bit of musical spectacle from a secret special guest...who, as it happens, is neither secret nor special. In fact, it_x0019_ s just her sister Penny who works cheap and will provide a bit of atmos and guitar-noodling at various points throughout the show,. Kitty describes her comedy as: _x001C_ A little bit oowah_x001D_ Which is to say people often laugh then say: _x001C_ Oowah, did she really say that?_x001D_ The Edinburgh Evening News summed it up as: _x001C_ Cruel, vicious, charming and innocent._x001D_ Her mother describes it as: _x001C_ Not really my cup of tea but all the girls at the golf club seem to like it so what do I know?_x001D_
