Come and find out about ArtStart and other opportunities for emerging artists. Find out more about the following Australia Council programs which support emerging artists. Artist Run Initiatives: The Visual Arts Board in partnership with the Inter-Arts office offers grants to ARIs to assist them to present projects which develop skills and networks for emerging artists. ArtStart: The ArtStart program has been created to give financial assistance to recent arts graduates, helping artists make the challenging transition from studying to having a professional career in the arts. An ArtStart grant provides artists of all mediums with up to $10,000 to fund services, resources, skills development and/or equipment. www.artstartgrant.com.au Creative Residencies and Commissions: Grants for residencies with major performing arts companies for young and emerging creative producers, directors and performing artists. Commissions for new work created or performed by young and emerging artists with the Australia Council's major performing arts companies and key organisations. National mentoring programs for artists, producers and Indigenous artists: A suite of mentoring programs including JUMP and the Next Generation which provide extensive one on one mentoring development. www.jumpmentoring.com.au Splendid: Splendid is a partnership between Splendour in the Grass and leading art agencies looking to develop talent and to offer festival audiences new creative experiences. Splendid is made up of a series of Arts Labs, forums and commissions for young and emerging artists at the frontier of contemporary ideas creation, cross-artform collaborations and audience participation. Splendid offers participating artists opportunities to work collaboratively together in a dynamic environment that encourages critical thinking and experimentation. The aim is to create new ways of thinking about site specific experiences. www.splendid.org.au
