'Cam Blokland, the guitarist who brought you "Metropolis 2010 - A Dream Theater Tribute" and "Surfing with the Alien - A Joe Satriani Tribute" presents a show of original guitar driven music. Backed by a band of young Aussie instrumental giants, this show will amaze from start to finish.' A Bold Display of Guitar is a show in which original compositions of guitarist Cam Blokland will be performed. Cam is an exciting new addition to the Australian guitar scene. He combines elements of fusion, jazz, blues, metal, classical and world music to create instrumental music which is truely unique. Some highlights for Cam in the last few years have been completing a Jazz Honours Degree at The University of Adelaide (in which he studied the playing style of Allan Holdsworth) and performing 2 masterpiece albums in the last 2 Adelaide Fringe Festivals (Joe Satriani's 'Surfing with the Alien' in 2009 and Dream Theater's 'Scenes from a Memory' in 2010). Cam's band features some of the finest and most recognized young musicians in Adelaide - Jez Martin (Bass), Jakub Tengdahl (Keys) and Joel Prime (Drums). The virtuosity of this band, combined with the musicality of Cam's fresh compositions, is a recipe for the best guitar show you can witness this Fringe season.
