19-year-old Georgia Germein is an Australian, Adelaide-based singer/songwriter who has been developing her musical craft since she was four years of age. She is a multi-instrumentalist and gifted composer who has won a number of prestigious awards including seven ASME Young Composers Awards and the 2007 South Australian Premier's Award. She was also a semi finalist in the 2007 International Songwriting Competition. Georgia's entry in the 2009 Young Bloods Radio competition to promote blood donation was the National winner, earning her advertisement airplay on Nova nationally. Georgia's songs are wide-ranging in theme, richly evocative, deeply heartfelt and reflect her musical journey over many years. They draw on her experience of growing up in the bush in the Adelaide Hills combined with her commitment to the Environment, Indigenous Reconciliation, her work in the Kalahari, South Africa and Nepal as World Vision's 2010 Youth Ambassador. A palette of intricate melodies and shimmering harmonies, dynamic arrangements and subtle reference to a diverse range of musical references is that of Georgia's music; all complemented by the soaring purity and precision of her vocal delivery. Georgia is passionate and highly committed to her music with a message. "You are a visionary, for someone so young.... I know you understand this deeply and I know you will always use your songs and your music to great effect. Thank you for being a part of my life and reminding me that great things can be achieved in the hands of extraordinary creativity"... VGM Media & Marketing Georgia_x0019_ s list of live appearances in 2010 is extensive and includes three sold out shows at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, performances at the Fuse Ignition Showcase, Sea and Vines Festival, Fleurieu Folk Festival, World Vision Global Leadership Conventions in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, guest artist at Uni SA O Week and Open Day, UNIFEM fundraiser, Guest speaker/artist at the launch of the Globalist Magazine and many more. Georgia is World Vision's Youth Ambassador and has travelled around the State speaking and performing at more than 70 schools reaching over 40,000 students. More recently Georgia (vocals, guitar, piano) with her talented sisters Clara (drums, backing vocals) and Ella (bass, synth, backing vocals) has supported Australian music legends Renee Geyer, Brian Cadd, Russell Morris, Ross Wilson, Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows. "I have witnessed many great support acts _x0013_ but only one that has held the audience_x0019_ s attention in such a way. Georgia and her sisters are able to connect with a wide range of demographics with their quality performance." John Daunt, Manager of Norwood Live "Not only talented and a joy to listen to, the three girls are simply gorgeous: there's something special about these sisters...led by the youngest one, Georgia" Having just returned from a highly successful tour of Malaysia in July, Georgia has now finished recording her debut album with Producer Ian Pritchett (Angus & Julia Stone and the Beautiful Girls) and is excited about the role music is playing in her life.
