Held in the Urban Cow Studio, 'Funny People' is a series of portraits of some of the major players in the comedy scene. Be reminded of characters in 'Fast Forward', the 'Big Gig', 'Micallef Programme' (being one portrait of Micallef), 'Talking about Your Generation', 'Good News Week', 'Before the Game', 'The Gruen Transfer' and many other personalities that we have invited into our homes and into our hearts, heads and funny bones in the past 20 years of Australian Comedy. Being passionate about comedy herself, first time exhibiting artist, Julia Clarke wanted to celebrate Australian Comedy for its unique, often dry humour and its uncanny ability to raise a giggle. As E.E Cummings once said, 'The most wasted of all days is one without laughter' and this exhibition is a tribute to those that help us make our days less wasteful. Demetrius Romeo of the acclaimed 'Stand and Deliver' blog is the reporter to the comedians and has written a piece on all of the comedians portrayed in the exhibition. You can find his incredible blog at http://standanddeliver.blogs.com/dombo/ Come and see 'Funny People' and remind yourselves of why these people made you laugh. While you're there, see a show in the adjoining 'Rhino Room'! Go on. Laugh.
