People say _x0018_ follow your dreams_x0019_ . But they don_x0019_ t mean it. They mean, _x0018_ get a job._x0019_ Dreams are like children, if you follow them too long, people get very suspicious. Award winning comedian Markus Birdman brings his first solo show to Australia, all the way from the UK. It's a show about following your dreams. It's about not following the rules. It's about not believing everything you see on TV. And it's about an hour (excluding encores! autographing children etc.) Having performed three sell out solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, and at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in Francesca Martinez show, I_x0019_ mPerfect, and delighted audiences from China to Mumbai, from Singapore to Sweden (in fairness he died on his arse in Germany), Markus Birdman is delighted to be premiering his new hilarious show at the Adelaide fringe. _x001C_ Birdman's set made me laugh so hard it hurt. I had never seen or heard of Markus Birdman before tonight, so I had little idea what a treat we were in for. To put it quite simply Birdman absolutely stormed his headline set in a way we have been yet to see from a main act this semester. To be honest it's hard to define what was so great about it, other than to say it was really, really funny. Birdman is the all-round package: witty, controversial, hip, topical, silly. He also had a mastery of timing and physical comedy; filling the vast open expanse that is the Engine Shed stage like few can. His advice on how to use the goose-step to get yourself out of awkward social situations was so funny I damn near cried._x001D_ BBC _x001C_ Engagingly mixes the silly and the downright wrong- goose stepping anyone? -making him a distinctive laugh maker. He has an incontrovertible ability to write a good joke. He can nail an unexpected line so perfectly you wonder why all the hacks never got so inspired_x001D_ Chortle, UK
