A forceful and powerfully poetic new play about forced marriage of young women in some African countries. Mary is a teenage girl trying desperately to finish school in order to get her family out of poverty. Her father and the village chief have other ideas. By Sudanese writer James Majur. Presented by The Sudan Youth Theatre Company. A talented group of young African performers. Written by young Adelaide-based Sudanese writer James Majur, this is his first play and it deals with the issue of marriage for young girls in an Africa that is transofrming from traditional village into the modern world.This production is supported by the Migrant Resource Centre of SA and SA Writers Theatre
