During Fringe 2011 Nexus Gallery will be transformed into Urban Dictionary - a mash up of paste-ups, stencils and urban gardens with imagery created by local Adelaide Artists and students of art, architecture and design. As citizens we like the city to be mixed use, diverse, easily accessible and socially inclusive, Urban Dictionary seeks to mimic this vision of an evolving urban environment. The Nexus Gallery will become a morphing multi-use space over the three week Fringe period, Gallery by day, Performance space by night, stencils, paste ups and urban garden experiments escaping from within the walls of the white cube. A glut of black & white, paper, paste, aerosol and growing walls will spring from the gallery creating an urban sprawl into the outdoor beer garden and beyond.
