What made you walk through the door that first night? The rent was due. What did you say? I said I needed a job. The woman asked how old I was. I said 18. She asked what my boob size was. I said 12DD. She told me to slowly turn in a circle. I did. She said I could start that night. What did you do when you came home? I had a shower. I scrubbed myself and I cried. Kristina and Fleur share a flat in Caulfield North with two cats, two mannequins and a stuffed giraffe named Angus. Kristina does the cleaning and Fleur does the cooking and dresses the mannequins. This play was born on the bathroom floor, as one housemate quizzed the other about her life and her years in the sex industry. Slowly, over a year of living together, their stories began to converge until they found they were dreaming each other's dreams. Skin House is a voyeuristic journey through the lives of two very different women. In a poetic blend of physical theatre, story-telling and exquisite music, it strips away the mystery surrounding sex work and, with candour, simplicity and good humour, proves that you are always more than the product of your past.
