Comedian and actor, Russell McGilton has been chased by bandits, shot at, robbed, survived a bus crash or two& and that was just trying to get out of Melbourne. Accidents are Prohibited on this Road is the follow up to his award-winning one man show, Bombay to Beijing by Bicycle. This time, he traverses the globe: escaping ex-Latina girlfriends, being charged at by rhinos in Kenya, exploring the Scottish Museum while on illicit substances, Ninja-ed in a meditation retreat and lastly, but worst of all, trying to escape Wayne from Woy Woy. Sit back and snap the knot out of your thong as Russell takes you on a not-so-Lonely Planet Guide of travel misadventure, wrong turns and sex in different time zones. Accidents are Prohibited on this Road is dramaturged by Barry Award nominee Damian Callinan and Alice Bishop (Catalpa _x0013_ Green Room nomination for Best Director Alzheimer_x0019_ s the Musical and The Sheryls) . '...a well-scripted, constructed show and pretty bloody funny!' Emma Woodall, Beat Magazine, Melbourne Fringe 2010 'McGilton_x0019_ s has the superb ability to seamlessly switch into alternate characters and demonstrates he has a great career ahead of him. He left us wanting more.' Natasha Boyd, Theatre People, Melbourne Fringe 2010. _x001C_ Bombay to Beijing constitutes a superb ride through the self which can only evolve as Russell pauses for breath. This show is funny, engaging and pleasantly feverish._x001D_ Helen Razer, The Age Bombay to Beijing by Bicycle won the 2003 George Fairfax Award and had sell-out seasons at the Melbourne Fringe Festival, Melbourne Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Russell McGilton has worked and travelled in over 30 countries. From the vast plains of Africa to the steamy jungles of Cambodia and Vietnam to the deserts of China and the crumbling glaciers of the southern tip of Chile. His book, Yakety Yak: Bombay to Beijing by Bicycle is published by Penguin Publishing.
