S.o.V, a band born in Adelaide, is gaining national acclaim, following their 2009 performance to a packed and jubilant Melbourne Town Hall audience, and appearances at various other national festivals and local venues. Confirmed to perform at Sidney Myer Music Bowl on April 24th, 2011, the unit blends the melodic and mesmerising Ukrainian lute, the Bandura, with instruments from diverse genres and origins, resulting in a soundscape of global components, perhaps now best categorised as, `East meets Everything Else_x0019_ . The re-interpretation of traditional Ukrainian folk music is part of the focus, along with original material. They incorporate some contemporary instrumentation, while also including grooves from a variety of cultural traditions, also using powerful projected visuals to bring the songs and the stories they convey, to life.
