Three local organizations have joined forces to bring a music festival to Adelaide_x0019_ s Southern Suburbs. Aerial Gymnastics Club, Port Noarlunga Football Club and Club Connect. All three of these local clubs will be running the festival "South" on March 12th 2011. "Inner city Adelaide is constantly promoting itself with festivals and activities and its time that south Adelaide offered something here. Living south is fantastic, we have some of the best beaches in the world but we need to be providing our youth with more local activities, so they grow up proud of their community and want to stay and put more back into it" says Nadene McCrohan, President Aerial Gymnastics Club. The trio have lines up performers such as Before Clear Skies Impartial Desert Crooks Heston Drop Your Motive For Dj Gasson Andy Roberts The Williams Street Strikers DJ Mini The Dix Mr Krispy The Silverbacks "South" is an over 18's party as there will be alcohol sold, but it will be supporting a younger up and coming bands such as "Shot Gun Not" and "Lipsmack" and the girls from the gymnastics club will be putting on a tumbling display. "We don't want to deny the under 18's the chance to be involved, but they will get a fantastic experience by being able to perform at the event" says Nadene This festival is a not for profit event, any money raised will be put back into the local clubs who struggle for funding and a large donation will be made to a community organization "Southern Blues" who is trying desperately to address local mental health issues. The Port Noarlunga Football Club has experienced four suicides in the past four years and feels passionately about making a change and promoting a good health message to the community. "Our footy club has already lost too many boys and we are doing what we can to educate safe behavior to try and save lives and change the mentality and stigma behind mental illness". Tod Stokes, president and founder of club connect. "When Nadene approached our club to run the festival we soon found out that we were all working with the same goals in mind" Says Tod. "Its all about the positive health message and looking after one another" "You can still have a great party and look after one another at the same time" says Carolyn Clarke Southern Blues, "So rather than trying to address positive health in a dull and boring manner, we are trying to reach out with something that is a lot more fun."
