Kim:"With this being my first Fringe related visual arts display, my aim is to explore the fusion of textiles and jewellery in a unique and never before considered approach that is both visually inspiring and thought provoking. My background is in fashion, jewellery and graphic design, my work tends to combine all three elements into one. I have long had a fascination for designing my own jewellery, this opportunity has given me a chance to have my vision displayed for all to enjoy." "The work will be a discovery into the differing ways in which textiles, jewellery and graphic design can be combined to make a cohesive piece. The main focus is the creation of jewellery in diverse ways, I will be creating textiles within jewellery and Vice versa. Scale, proportion and colour will be used to unite everything in a common relationship and present beautifully crafted sculptures . The works will be presented in Spotlight Adelaide store, come and have a look, be inspired, be intrigued and be amazed." Brendan: _x001C_ I_x0019_ m currently studying Millinery at Tafe SA, experimenting with mixed mediums to create visually appealing, wearable works of art. I have a background in sewing and I am obsessed with buying fabric and finding new ways of using it to create special one of a kind pieces. Like a sculptor would use a piece of clay I will show you that fabric may be flat but when it_x0019_ s in the hands of the right people it can be mesmerizing. So come see our display of creative genius and get ideas on what you could make with something flat and simple!" "Our event and design is based around the theme of _x001C_ IN THE SPOTLIGHT_x001D_ and will be presenting a display of creativity, ingenuity, elegance and total impracticality. With our mash-up of trimming techniques, fabric treatments, sculpture inspired designs and just whatever we could find rolling around in our heads or closets. To take you on an outstanding adventure and beg to question just what can you get away with wearing this year. With the help of Spotlight Adelaide hosting our visual art installation and giving us the opportunity to show Australia just what were made of in SA. We will inspire you to create, decorate and celebrate Fringe 2011."
