It's been a long time between drinks for three-fifths of The Well Oiled Sisters (Scotland) as they reunite to revive their high vibe, cow-punk sound under the banner of The Oily Girls. The Well-Oiled Sisters lit up the Australian festival circuit in the mid-'90s, with memorable performances at Womadelaide, Blue Mountains Folk Festival and Midsumma, to name just a few. Separated by 10 years and 10,000 miles, Lucy Edwards (The Humpff Family) and the now Melbourne-based Alics Gate-Eastley (Lou Bennett & The Sweet Cheeks) and Sam Colligan (The Dypsomaniacs) reunited last February with a bang, joined on stage by legendary Melbourne firecrackers Monica Weightman (The Charcoal Club, Jo Jo Smith) and Jen Anderson (Weddings Parties Anything, Tim Rogers). After dipping their collective musical toes back into the Southern-hemispherical pond, their packed Melbourne shows left the crazy, dirty cowgirls thirsty for more! The Oily Girls are a foot-stomping country experience, with a hard-rockin' rhythm section, cigarette-and-whisky flavoured vocals and an anarchic accordion. Be warned, though _x0013_ The Oily Girls ain_x0019_ t for the faint-hearted!
