Beer Drinking Woman, as the title more than suggests, is dedicated to booze. With the mesmerising voice of a mermaid wooing sailor's ships into rocks and a dash of 1920s bravado, Christa takes us on the alcohol drenched journey of a "lush" from the tingling buzz of that first elegant sip all the way through to the hair-of-the-dog blues. Beer, however, is not the only culprit. With verve and charm Christa's well researched show also brings wine and spirits to the table, not to mention the accompanying cocktails of giggles and hiccups and pick ups and put downs. Accompanied by pianist Leonie Cohen, they will perform her own liquor laced compositions as well as songs by Tom Waits (The Piano's Been Drinking), Frank Sinatra (Angel Eyes), Memphis Slim (Beer Drinking Woman), Cold Chisel (Cheap Wine), The Tiger Lillies (Dribble), James Shelton (Lilac Wine) and more. So, if you like beer swills and cheap thrills, come on in and wet your whistle and sink another with the Dive Bar Diva.
