The Governess in Lessons Learnt
Comedy
Presented by:
THE SOCIETY OF HISTRIONIC HAPPENINGS
The Governess in Lessons Learnt Written and performed by Anne-Louise Rentell Afraid of the dark? Terrified of what tomorrow will bring? The Governess has blown in from the 19th century to educate her charges (the audience). Time travel and a significantly altered global landscape have left her confused, uncertain and a little askew. Against a backdrop of inclement weather she delivers a series of bizarre lessons, performs chalk dust dances, apocalyptic horse impressions, and a banana-eating scene that defies description, to ensure you leave the classroom knowing less than when you entered. Funny, bent and bewildered, enrol with The Governess as she navigates the shadowy world of uncertainty. "...this one woman show is a tutorship in unfettered character originality..." Sydney Morning Herald "& twitchy, seductive, frightening and demented. Rentell's governess is a joy to watch."
