This is what we do for a living
Circus
Presented by:
TUMBLE CIRCUS
THIS is what happens when circus performers tell the story of a relationship as a Belfast boy and a Swedish girl fall in and out of love. Directed by deliciously quirky Melbourne comedian Trent Birdmann, This is what we do for a living, is circus of the absurd, it's funny and flexible with great comic timing and even better gymnastic timing. Through slap- stick acrobatics, hazardous aerial tricks and flying hula hoops, Fanning and Segner take an absurd look at their life together since their unlikely pairing back in the mid 1990_x0019_ s in Dublin. To an orchestral soundtrack of 90_x0019_ s rock, the dazzling Tina Segner (originally from Sweden, complete with allan keys and instruction manual) will shock and enchant with her exhilarating trapeze and outlandish hula hoop skills. Ken Fanning (known as the Michael Flatley of the air) brings a delightfully mixed bag of vast talents to the performance, including juggling, acrobatic and aerial prowess, set off by his cheeky stand-up and comedy song-writing background. A reflective, nostalgic and very funny take on the quirky journey the pair have made through the trials and tribulations of circus life, This is what we do for a living, explores how relationships can fall apart, how they land on their feet, and how they survive. Peeling back the canvas, Tumble Circus will show you the human side of the circus. No fanfare or sequins, quite simply the extraordinary skill and passion of two carnies on a life-long adventure.
