'Cause tonight there_x0019_ ll be a fire or a flood, or something, and I know that it_x0019_ s going to bury me and it won_x0019_ t just be up to my knees.' A stunningly performed and fully scored journey into a night of infidelity, Ad Nauseam is a fractured celebration of excess, egoism and regret. Fresh from their jam packed sellout season of 2011, AtticErratic hits Adelaide with a remount of the highly acclaimed Ad Nauseam: A Night of Infidelity, written and directed by Tom Pitts (Melbourne Fringe Awards Special Commendation 2010, Best Emerging Writer) and performed by Melbourne's own Nick Bendall. Ad Nauseam is rhythmic sorcery; a deeply mesmerising monologue following one man_x0019_ s journey through the streets and bars of an unkind city. Crafted from poetic language and a musical score of waltz and rock, the piece takes us on a journey into some of the dark parts of one's mind. As the night progresses, sarcasm and black comedy present the character's revelations of his desires and their inevitability. We're forced to watch his propriety collapse on itself and as we're taken further and further into this night (maybe further than we want to go) we discover a truth hidden in the stink of alcohol and sordid bedsheets: perhaps, we're not all that different from him... "Bendall's delivery is spellbinding, while Tom Pitts' rhythmic soundscape creates a compelling work" - Tim Richards, The Age, 4 Stars
