Radio drama was brought to life with the use of imaginative scripts, great character actors and the use of innovative sound-effects. The actors in these shows became stars in their own right and audiences flocked to see them perform live in the radio studios. 'Insert Sponsor Here' Radio Variety Hour is a light-hearted look at the performance itself, how things really worked in the studio, how the special effects were done, who really did all the different voices and how the actors interacted with each other. Using a mix of actual Australian broadcast material from the 40s and material adapted especially for the show, 'Insert Sponsor Here' Radio Variety Hour is action-packed with comedy, drama, music, adventure, product placement and good old-fashioned racism!
