Life is different for the deaf; every day we wake up to face a world far different from the one you experience. The way we interpret the world and understand it; the way we communicate in it, the relationships we form in it all have the potential to lead to one inescapable fact...that we will most likely totally fall on our ass. This is not the touchy, feely, tickly show about deafness where we talk about how we are all the same and sing Kumbaya after a group hug. This is the show where being a deaf person living in a hearing world is an extreme sport much like jumping from a helicopter onto a ski slope riding a push bike... (except being deaf you should probably avoid helicopters altogether and you have no internal auditory balance so riding a pushbike is out, it_x0019_ s probably more like dodgeball because your just trying to stay out of the way most of the time and people are always throwing stuff at you.) This is the show where we ask the big questions, such as, do you put your pants on in the morning before or after you have inserted your hear aids? What three phrases will get you through a cocktail party when you can_x0019_ t hear a word anyone is saying? and why should you never challenge a deaf person to a fight? There will be police chases, road trips and one helpful story about falling asleep in a noisy airport. This is the show where we tell you that if you are going to take on the world without being able to hear a damn thing it helps to have your wits about you; because when there is no choice between life and deaf you have got to be a bit _x001C_ Deaf Defying_x001D_ !
