The City of Adelaide Band will entertain in a relaxed cabaret style setting with a diverse mixture of various jazz related styles, which will include traditional jazz, swing, blues and more. The around 40 piece concert band provides an ideal musical context to present those revered tunes made famous by the jazz & swing greats such as Duke Ellington, Glen Miller and George Gershwin - to name just a few. The interspersing of more contemporary jazz related tunes, amongst these great standards, enhances the program providing contrasting interest and variety. We are also pleased to be able to complement the band with the passionate vocals of singer Nina V. Nina's passion for singing started at a very young age, having commenced with gospel singing and other choirs. She enjoys many different styles, popular contemporary to ballads and jazz. In 2007 Nina won the SA and NT title of Australian Idol "My Mum Rocks" competition. Nina now performs with local bands such as Pulse, Cool4kids, Jazz It Up and Boogie Fever as well as the City of Adelaide Band. Our scintillating conductor, Sergey Grynchuk, will lead the band through this highly entertaining journey of jazz. To assist in your enjoyment bar facilities will be available, as well as meals prior to the Saturday night show (meals must be confirmed with the German Club before the show).
