AFQ _x0013_ Adelaide Flute Quartet The AFQ will perform an exciting program by American composer, Catherine McMichael. Catherine_x0019_ s compositions are very accessible and evoke traditional music from different cultures. Performed in the gorgeous surrounds of the Adelaide Hills, come and be romanced, enthused and inspired by these works The AFQ was formed in 2010, after the successful tour to New Zealand of its larger parent group, the Eliza Tones Flute Ensemble. The members of AFQ are all local teachers and performers who play and support community music making. Kerryn Schofield teaches with the DECS Instrumental Music Service and recently performed as a soloist at the Stratford International Flute Festival. She is a member of the Crate Trio and a founding member of the Adelaide folk-rock band _x001C_ Spiral Dance_x001D_ . An active advocate of Music-Play for Life, Kerryn is musical director of the community based Uraidla Band. Catherine Kammermann teaches with the DECS Instrumental Music Service. She is a graduate of Flinders Street School of Music working with Alison Rosser and completed her Bachelor of Music Performance (Honours) with Louise Dellit. Catherine returned home after a successful decade teaching classroom music, IMS and a private studio in country SA, in time to rejoin the Eliza Tones Flute ensemble for their tour to New Zealand. Julie Todd is currently the featured alto, bass flute player with the Eliza Tones ensemble. She has always enjoyed the warmer tones of the larger flutes and is aiming to specialise in these instruments. She is an itinerant teacher at local primary schools and has a large private studio. Julie enjoys making music and spreading that pleasure to the wider community. Sally Eads has taught privately since 1971 and currently teaches with the DECS Instrumental Music Service. She has performed in amateur orchestras, concert bands and small ensembles for many years and toured with the Eliza Tones Ensemble to England and New Zealand. Sally is an advocate of community music making and supports the Uraidla Band as an electric bass player. The AFQ will perform an exciting program by American composer, Catherine McMichael. Catherine_x0019_ s compositions are very accessible and evoke traditional music from different cultures.
