A Silent Dinner Party is a normal dinner party, except the guests are requested: Please do not use words or your voice, Please don't read or write, Try to make as little noise as possible, Don't interact with technology, Stay with it for 2 - 3 hours at least. There is no audience, only participants. We gather in a private house for a 3 course banquet. No photographs will be taken, these events will disappear as silently as they appear. Participant numbers vary but places are very limited. The Silent Dinner Parties offer you a unique opportunity to question the very way we interact socially and to deconstruct the routines of domestic space. They heighten our dependance on communication technologies, and allow you to experience the very presence of Real Space socialising without mediation. It's a grand Silent Giggle, and a delicious feast. Silence, being technically impossible, makes these dinners a flop before they start, so there is no right or wrong behaviour, - it may feel like the loudest party on the block, as your hearing and other senses are heightened to the often otherwise unnoticed environmental soundscape.
