Political Smack-Down brings together some of Australia_x0019_ s most talented TV writers, media columnists and rabble rousers and lets them off the leash to unload a salvo of stand up on our politicians and public figures. If you like comedy with brains instead of brawn, this is the night for you. About the team: Mathew Kenneally. Mathew Kenneally Mathew Kenneally is fast becoming Australia_x0019_ s go to man for political comedy. In 2007 Mat_x0019_ s debut solo show "Mathew Kenneally for Parliament?" won Most Outstanding Comedy at the Melbourne Fringe Festival. Just six months later he was nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the 2008 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He has written for Rove, Channel 7, and Foxtel_x0019_ s The Mansion, and is co-author of the satirical blog diaryleaks.com.au. Mat is also a founer of the monthly news based comedy night Political Asylum. _x001C_ This guy has all the skill of a Max Gillies but none of the sweet Marxist longing of Max's old school. Keneally is a smart young pragmatist with small l liberal politics and a liberal dose of charm._x001D_ Helen Razer. Toby Halligan. Toby Halligan is one of the new breed of Melbourne comedians; politically switched on, scathing, and very, very funny. Nominated for a Best Newcomer at the 2011 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, he_x0019_ s been building loyal following ever since. A co-author of the hugely popular diaryleaks.com.au, a regular contributor to thepunch.com.au and all-round good guy, Political Smack-Down is Halligan_x0019_ s first Adelaide appearance. _x001C_ Halligan_x0019_ s show has a delicate touch and some killer jokes_x001D_ - The Herald Sun. "A comic natural, lively, likeable & confident" - Chortle Courteney Hocking. Courteney Hocking is one of the true underground gems of Australian comedy. She_x0019_ s a writer for Good News Week (Network Ten), The Age and Crikey, and she has performed stand up for Amnesty International, as well as hosted radio shows with the ABC_x0019_ s Lawrence Leung and international comedy superstar Daniel Kitson. _x001C_ Her tongue-in-cheek dissection is insightful, biting and brings laughs aplenty. There are less of the usual knowing nods and chuckles provided by political comedy, and more of the laugh-out-loud surprise provided by a unique comic talent who talks politics_x001D_ The Pun Scott Abbot. Sydney_x0019_ s Scott Abbot is a political comedian who is in no way related to his namesake Tony (as far as he knows). He_x0019_ s a regular contributor to www.thepunch.com.au, a founding member of Melbourne_x0019_ s hugely successful _x001C_ Political Asylum_x001D_ comedy room and is known for his wry, biting observations on Australian politics. A rising star of Australian political comedy, see him in his first Adelaide appearances. _x001C_ A gem for political junkies_x001D_ The Herald Sun.
