In a timeless era reminiscent of post-war depression, Harper and Gamble live a dull and lonely existence. That is until, the two stumble across one another. What begins as a fiery and contemptuous relationship develops in surprising ways when something extraordinary is thrust upon them. Together the two go on a freewheeling adventure and discover more than they bargained for. Inspired by the masters of physical comedy, The Marx Brothers, Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, and accompanied by a lively soundtrack composed by Adelaide_x0019_ s Scuttle Buttons La Parapluie is a highly physical show. Using mime, slapstick, dance and movement Harper and Gamble explore the imagination of the inner child and take the audience on a humorous, energetic, and touching journey of friendship. La Parapluie examines what it is to discover something new, only to exhaust it of all its splendour. In a world full of marvel and intrigue, La Parapluie asks how and why we are capable of so easily destroying the beauty that is given to us.
