'Cinderella _x0013_ The Untold Story' is a zany reworking of the classic fairy tale, inspired by Roald Dahl and choreographed by internationally renowned Csaba Buday. Cinderella is an easy target for her two mean stepsisters, who bully her relentlessly. The hideous pair make life a drag for Cinderella. When the Prince announces the Royal Ball all the ladies of the Kingdom want the chance to meet the Prince, hoping that he will fall madly in love with them, and carry them off into to a life of privilege and luxury. With the help of seven clever little rats and her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella defies her stepsisters, and attends the Ball. Many fairytale favourite characters, including Snow White, Goldilocks and her three bears, Jack and Jill, Puss in Boots, and Little Red Riding Hood, are all at the ball, dancing up a storm to impress the Prince. But will Cinderella like the Prince? Will the Prince fall in love with Cinderella? Does she live happily ever after? All will be revealed as the story unfolds, with spectacular and colourful dance and clever, witty narration. Don_x0019_ t be deceived by this familiar story line, as this fractured tale is full of surprises! It will have audiences, young and old, laughing at the antics of the ugly stepsisters, and bemused by the seven little dancing rats that weave their magic through the ballet. South Australian Children_x0019_ s Ballet Company was formed in 1985 and features talented young dancers, ranging in age from 10 to 19 years, selected from various ballet schools throughout Adelaide. They are a dedicated group of artists who are passionate about promoting dance as a performing art, and who work with enthusiasm throughout the year on professionally produced classical, modern, contemporary and multicultural works commissioned from leading local, national and international choreographers.
