The Company The Decrepit Cabaret is an exciting collaboration between identical twins Shannon and Mark McGurgan. They are both independent artists in their own right with Shannon having performed as a circus artist and songwriter for close to 20 years and Marks spending a very similar amount of time refining his abilities as a musician. Shannon focus_x0019_ s on Acrobalance as his main skill but he has tried his hand at lots of different circus skills including trapeze, aerial straps, tumbling, juggling and fire manipulation. He even has a serviceable hula-hoop act and has a children_x0019_ s circus show called _x001C_ Shaggles Magic Circus World_x001D_ which is also showing at Adelaide fringe 2012. Mark began his musical career playing saxophone and he is very accomplished and celebrated entertainer. His current passion is with swing piano and with his band _x001C_ Mr Blue_x001D_ he is taking all manner of popular song, old and new, and re-arranging them into the most danceable toe taping swing music you are likely to hear. This is the first show they have ever done together and with such diverse artistic talent and an understanding that only family can bring this company promises to be a must see. The Show How do you react when you see a couple arguing on the street? Do you empathize with the man or do you feel a connection to the woman? Does the rational logic of a situation dominate your sensibilities or is it swamped and extinguished by the compelling emotion that cries out for fairness? It seems that every day of our lives we are forced to choose between two arguments of the same thing and this battle is no different. The battle of the sexes, the gender divide, inequality, chauvinism, call it whatever, its just perspective. You will meet Mama and your perspective will be exposed. The question remains whether that is something you are comfortable with& & ..or not. _x001C_ Mama_x0019_ s Bag of Feathers_x001D_ is a collection of mostly original songs written by Shannon and Mark McGurgan. With Marks careful ear for musical technicality and Shannon_x0019_ s feeling for the punchy dramatic of the circus _x001C_ Mama_x0019_ s Bag of Feathers_x001D_ is a surprise package for this years fringe.
