If family is the crucible for love might it not also contain the blueprint for violence? In L.O.V, Melbourne-based physical theatre company The Chiral Collective pries into the space between violence and passion to explore the intricacies of loyalty and morality. By dissecting the cocoon-like relationship of two childhood friends, L.O.V demolishes the foundation of adolescent games to expose the chaos that can incur when the rules of play are transferred into an adult world, and the full weight of expectation and consequence are brought to bear. In this three man play gesture and textual rhythms combine in iteration to create a raw and ferocious depiction of love - what we do for it, and what it does to us.
