A man sets foot on a train just as it is pulling out of the platform. He has never got this train before. He doesn_x0019_ t know why he is on it; he normally just goes home after work. This is a story about escaping, about adventures and about how sometimes we ignore the things we don_x0019_ t want to think about, lose ourselves and end up somewhere we never expected to be. This is a magical story about a very ordinary man who, one day, takes a slightly different step out of his routine. He sets foot on a train pulling out of Kings Cross Station and he ends up here, somewhere he never expected to be _x0013_ this could be Anywhere. But to get here he has travelled through worlds and stories and places he never dreamed of seeing. He has a growing amount of missed calls on his phone. He is lost. The journey is relentless, but it is liberating. He walks with giants, swims through coral and dances with naiads in the dark by candlelight. Occasionally the train stops for a cigarette break. There_x0019_ s the conductor, the sleeper and the old lady sat a few seats in front. Other than that the train seems empty. It powers on through wheat fields, rivers, ice beds, forests, deserts, nighttimes, daytimes and starry skies. This is a story about transience, about leaving things behind, about the importance of journeying, about how special the most fleeting experience can be. This is a story about being excited, scared, overwhelmed and overjoyed. It_x0019_ s about getting out of the routine. But it_x0019_ s also about responsibility, about standing up to what we can_x0019_ t ignore, about how and why we should care. The Fastest Train To Anywhere can take you to many places, but it can never take you back to where you came from, it can never take you home. One day it will drop you off as easily as it picked you up. And so he has been dropped off here. He has his suit, his hat and his briefcase that he was carrying home from work. And so, now, he should start his journey home. But he has no idea where home is any more.
