This is the dramatic story of a young nun, Agnes, who is accused of murdering her new born baby. A court appointed psychiatrist, Dr Martha Livingstone, is sent to assess her sanity however her investigation is complicated by the interference of the Mother Superior. The interrogations which follow force all involved to re-examine the meaning of faith and the power of love, leading to a dramatic and compelling climax.
