The release of their second album, Sounds from Inside, resonates with sophisticated yet effortless rhythms that fuse the unique sounds of dan bau (South East Asia), charango (South America) and harmonica (North America). Complex guitar riffs are juxtaposed with the percussive tribal tones of the djembe (Africa) and congas (the Caribbean). While stylistically complex, their second studio album is entirely instrumental. Sounds from Inside reflects a deeper understanding of how their instruments influence the creative process. Blueprint have reunited after a professional hiatus and returned to the public arena to perform at last year’s Fringe Festival. Drawing on their Barossa Valley roots, they have appeared at food and wine venues across South Australia’s wine regions in 2012, and will support Ash Grunwald at the internationally renowned Barossa Vintage Festival in 2013. Visually stimulating and instrumentally diverse, Blueprint’s music is simultaneously evocative, engaging and uplifting.
