Held at Adelaide Botanic Garden, the Tomato Festival brings together tomato gardeners and home cooks from across South Australia to share the benefits of home-grown produce, promote the diversity of tomato varieties and inspire cooks to embrace the versatile tomato in new ways. With a range of activities on offer, there is something to excite every interest or level of expertise. The weekend will also feature the Tomato Sauce Challenge, the Best in Show competition, tomato-themed workshops, cooking demonstrations, fun activities for kids, tomato-themed food carts, a tomato taste test, an art exhibition and special guided walks by the Friends of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide. Tomato Festival 2013 is a joint event between the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide, The Digger's Club and Botanic Gardens Restaurant.
