Having been born and bred in the far Northern Territory Ilona Harker's music reflects the depths and wilds of this frontier landscape. Her early music career as a singer in Butterfingers is a far cry from her signature folk-noir sound she currently inhabits. After realising her passion was not hip hop, Ilona formed 'Sugartown' an all girl 5 piece original country ensemble but the peace of country life called and Ilona moved to sleepy Brunswick Heads in Northern NSW to pursue a solo career and teach herself to play guitar and ukulele. During a small tour of France Ilona met up with Marc Collin from Nouvelle Vague who offered to produce Ilona’s debut album in France under his own label. However the opportunity to work with Jodi Phillis and Tim Oxley in Australia was an offer to good to refuse and Ilona began her recording in 2010. Ilona's debut solo album 'That Which Lasts' is an independent album of extraordinary originality imbued with lush and heart melting moments Moving from achingly haunting delicate ballads to fierce songs of strength and empowerment with a quip stomp and swagger, Ilona has charmed Australian and European audiences with her signature Folk-noir sound.
