SWISH! Is an exhibition of art relating to Tribal Belly Dance by women artists who have been involved in ATS (American Tribal Style) belly dance for the past few years. Tribal Belly Dance is a woven blend of traditional middle eastern belly dance, fiery flamenco, Romany gypsy and other traditional dance styles,often characterised by it's sumptuous, yet earthy, costuming of rich colours and lavish tribal jewellery. Over time we've found that our artwork has been influenced by our dance: it's hard to resist the colour, movement, grace and joy of the dancers and the beautiful extravagant costuming. In this exhibition, we'd like to share with others our love of the dance and the artwork that it has inspired. Please join us for our opening celebration on Saturday 2 March,where some of our favourite tribal dancers will do a short performance, or visit the exhibition during the week or on the weekends, when the artists will be in attendance.
