Funk Latin Union is an exciting new band to hit Adelaide. Bringing Latin American culture with modern urban attitude. Mixing Latin America’s favourite dance music ‘La Cumbia’ with reggae, funk, ska and rock, creating a hybrid Cumbia that’s harder with more dynamics and full of energy. F.L.U is energetic and full of surprise, with only a few shows under their belt they have manage to impressed the audience with their non-traditional ‘Latin Band’ shows, starting with the lead singer/guitarist Noni who can’t stay still, always stunt jumping and air kicks and dirty rock/blues solos, then there’s the haunting sounds of the Sikus (panflute) played by Jaime, it will give you a sense ancientness and then there’s the rhythm section, Jose on the bass and Andre on the drums these two freaks of nature can and have played from heavy metal to punk, funk, reggae, rock, blues, hip hop, salsa, samba, Mexican mariachi, you name it they’ll play it. Adding the smooth and sexy feel to the band there’s the funky and soulful sounds of Ben on the Sax and Keys and the mellifluous voice of Cynthia.
