A celebration of exhibitionism. Jascha Boyce, one of the founding members of the multi-award wining circus and physical theatre company Gravity & Other Myths presents a solo work exposing the beauty that can be found in oddities preserved in jars, women dancing behind glass and specimens of circus and sideshow. Jascha began development of ‘Specimens of Her’ during a Jump Mentorship in 2011. She then received funding to continue the creation process and ready the piece for presentation. This solo piece celebrates the display of the curious and unseemly guiding the audience through the stories and experiences of the specimens that can be stored within a jar. Merging circus skills, physical theatre, contemporary movement, spoken word and sideshow spectacle, Specimens of Her will urge you to experience the oddities in the world and share your own.
