On a still, warm, star-lit night there is the sound of crickets chirping in the bushland amidst ethereal strains of Nature Spirits singing. But not for long. Nick Bottom the weaver and his gang, complete with a cacophony of instruments, are preparing for a play for the Duke and Duchess for their wedding day at night. Shakespeare’s young lovers elope and the King and Queen of the Nature Spirits fight over an Indian boy. This unique setting for A Mid-Summer Dreaming enfolds the audience in the beauty of our Australian bushland and invites you to witness the folly of human love within a local context. Co-directed by award-winning emerging artist Nescha Jelk and Jo-anne Sarre, with music by Allye Sinclair and Plasticine Army, and with choreography by Sarah Booth of Imbala Jarjum, this Ink Pot Arts production offers a unique aussie-style experience. BYO picnic before the show and watch out for the sausages!
