Following a sold-out debut in 2012, Little Red Productions is proud to present its season extension of 'The Breakfast Club' for the Adelaide Fringe. Adapted for the stage in this South Australian premiere, the play follows a group of teenagers as they try to shed their respective stereotypes. Using various dramatic styles and music, this is a fast-paced, theatricalised and highly energetic ‘Breakfast Club’ for the 21st Century. They were five students with nothing in common, ordered to attend a Saturday detention by their strict principal. At 7am they had nothing to say, but by 4pm, they had bared their souls to one another. To the outside world they were simply the Athlete, the Brain, the Criminal, the Basket Case and the Princess, but to each other, they would always be The Breakfast Club. Fans of the original 1985 film and teenagers of today will love John Hughes’ funny, painful and classic story brought to life… albeit slightly shaken up. Featuring original direction and a talented ensemble of actors, this is a theatre experience you won’t want to miss. "Loved the dynamics, energy, innovation, dancing and hilarity... that was incredible!" - Fourth Wall Productions "Amazing... a captivating and emotion-evoking play."
