40Ks Out is an event to celebrate Gawler's social history and physical dynamics. A CD will be available for sale during the performance. The lyrics and music to the songs, written and performed by Bryan Cullen, include 'Dead Man's Pass', 'Reg', 'A Man and His Dog', 'Shoey' and 'I Remember When'. The poetry, written by Martin Johnson (with thanks to ArtsSA), includes 'Gawler's Old Walls', 'Gawler's Underground Rooms', 'Apex Park', 'Parridla Taikondi', and 'On Railway Terrace, shoes are hanging in the electric wires'. Accompanying musicians include Kearn Jones (blues slide guitar, harmonica), Angus Bugeja (keyboard & trumpet), Mark Randall (bass). The event has been assisted by Billy Southgate (artwork), Prince Albert Hotel, Brereton K Jewellers, Gawler's B Music, and Wheatsheaf Pub - Alandale North.
