{Adelaide University of the Third Age performance ensemble. Director –Judith Conrow-Shipley) - Think Henry Lawson, Banjo Paterson - think Jill Wherry, John R. Sabine and Jan Langrehr (who the hell are they? -This show is packed with a lively mix of frivolity, fun, nostalgia, wit, laughter, love, sorrow, comedy, drama tragedy and poetry. The Mixed Pickles is the strange name chosen by this group of thespians who regularly gather to rehearse, perform and have fun. In a pickle, certainly not, but ‘mixed’ definitely. All of the players have ‘mixed’ experiences and all have trodden the boards, some more professionally than others. Amongst the ‘mix’ are playwrights, poets, movie and stage performers. Most of these guys are younger than Dame Judy Dench and Woody Allen and together they have over 500 years of experience. They reckon that this outshines limited years of youth and beauty. Even talent. Bar open 20 minutes before show.
