Music
Presented by: THE YEARLINGS

Adelaide's alt. country darlings The Yearlings will play an intimate show in the magical outdoor night garden of "Howl The Moon" in Stepney on Saturday March 2. Featuring Robyn Chalklen, Chris Parkinson and BJ Barker, sprinkled with some very special guests. Performing 2 sets for one night only. 8pm. The Yearlings are Robyn Chalklen and Chris Parkinson and are often joined by BJ Barker on drums. Their music has “dirt on its feet and blood on its hands”, conjuring delicate harmonies and rich tremolo electric guitar, aged. Old. Just the right amount of haunting. With recent appearances at the Adelaide International Guitar Festival and supports including Steve Earle, The Punch Brothers and Justin Townes Earle, The Yearlings give a new strain of acoustic music, distilling American alt. country through the filter of distinctly Australian life. Chris’s guitar dances around Robyn’s plaintive, heartfelt delivery. Quiet, intimate, raw, and powerful, drawing on influences as far reaching as The Band, Gillian Welch, Broderick Smith and Matt Walker.
