“Provocateurs” at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel showcases three South Australian visual artists each specialising in different art mediums, tapestries, digital imagery and photography. These three friends combined works show a varied and eclectic mix, bright and quirky, mystical and funky, exotic and surprising. This collection of art work offers something for everyone. Joseanne Visentin’s has been Involved in the fields of Theatre, Performance, Film & Set Painting. Her Visual Art exploration has varied from sculptural installations, carved wooden paintings and oil paintings to the densely layered, colour saturated computer generated “virtual’’ collages, full of religious mystery, language and cultural icons . Russell Leonard textile artist known for his quirky, humorous and sarcastic tea towel designs is showing his intricate embroideries. These quirky portraits, feature detailed patterns, intricate stitches and a retro colour palette from the 50’s, 60’s 70’s, harking back to a bygone era that takes the viewer on a nostalgic journey back to their childhood days. Jane Blacket has been involved in theatre, film, television & photography. Now combining her photography with layered computer imagery she explores her Celtic heritage & the dreamtime stories from her childhood. Her “Over the Top” series shows her colourful quirky view everyday life.
