Ramblin' Man, Tristen Bird presents the music of Hank Williams

Music
Presented by: TRISTEN BIRD

Inspiration struck Melbourne based singer-songwriter Tristen Bird when he pressed play on his newly purchased The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams album. Having always been a fan of Hank’s music, Tristen experienced an awakening while listening to this new collection. “He wrote so many beautiful songs, and laid the path for rock and roll”, Tristen reflects. “The big thing I took from those recordings is the importance of celebrating Hank’s music, and introducing him to new audiences”. This led to the creation of Ramblin Man, a theatrical production with elements of musical performance, spoken word, acting, and audio/visual presentation combined to tell the story of Hank’s life and career. The show will officially debut at the newly renovated Regal Theatre in Kensington as part of the 2013 Adelaide Fringe Festival. Featuring a line up of prominent Adelaide and Melbourne musicians filling the roles of Hank’s backing band, The Drifting Cowboys, the show will include a selection of songs from Hank’s early career, his biggest hits, and the Notebook recordings. Show times for Ramblin Man are as follows: Fri 15 Feb 8:00-9:30pm (Opening Night) Sat 16 Feb 3:00-4:30pm (Matinee) Sun 17 Feb 7:00-8:30pm (Closing Night)
